Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Rod Stewart kick off what is being billed as their Greatest Hits tour on March 20th. The tour will feature the two legends bringing out all their old gems. “I think we’ve both begun thinking about which songs might be great fun and well-suited for a duet or two,” said Stewart.
The two rock stars have been busy lately. Stevie Nicks surprised the cast of Glee with a visit while they were shooting with Gwyneth Paltrow. Glee uses the Fleetwood Mac song “Landslide” in an upcoming episode and the frontwoman wanted to cast her nod of approval. Unfortunately she does not appear in the episode (maybe one day), though she’s a big fan of the show. She admitted that she would have liked to become a teacher had she not pursued music.
Stevie is a proponent of rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal, however her duet partner Rod Stewart just had his second son with his wife last week and practicing his part of “Leather and Lace” isn’t a top priority. He even confessed to Rolling Stone, “In the Faces, we never rehearsed. I always like there to be the element of risk in any show. When things go wrong, I love it. We’ll have to meet in the middle.” Also as I wrote earlier this week, Rod’s got a collaboration in the works with guitarist Jeff Beck the likes of which haven’t been heard since Jeff Beck Group.
Rod and Stevie’s Heart & Soul Tour will come to Philly at the Wells Fargo Center on April 5th.
