I have really liked The Cars since I first heard them on the radio in the summer of ’78. I was a teenager and didn’t like buying albums. I usually just bought 45 rpm singles and recorded songs off the radio. Sometimes I’d purchase K-tel records because you could get more hits for the money. BUT…with The Cars, I actually bought the entire albums, from their first LP “The Cars”, “Candy-O” through 1984′s “Heartbeat City”. In December of 1981, my girlfriend at the time bought me the album “Shake It Up” for Christmas, which I still own on vinyl. So…to celebrate Ric Ocasek’s 63rd birthday…here’s a great video from that album…
