Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson made up The Jackson 5, one of the groups that helped secure Motown’s legacy of the 1960s into the the next decade.

But add Rosie the snake, and a pair of mice named Ray and Charles (no “Ben?”) and what you get is something a bit weirder:  the Jackson 5 Saturday morning cartoon.

If you’re old enough to remember it, you may recall such classic episodes as “The Tiny 5,” where group was mysteriously shrunk down to miniature size and have to figure out how to revert back to their original heights. Or “The Groovatron,” where a road-weary Marlon creates a afro-wearing robot to stand in for the band at performances but (spoiler!) he ends up getting more popular than the J5! Or the various episodes where Michael gets knocked out and dreams up an entire episode (“Jackson Island,” “Michael White” and “Michael In Wonderland.”)

If you’re not old enough to remember them, you’re in luck: the entire series – all 23 episodes (featuring 46 songs in all!) is now available on DVD and BluRay. Get more details, and see another promo video with scenes from the classic show here.
