PHILADELPHIA, PA

George Clooney and Steve Wynn got into a big fight during a glitzy dinner in Las Vegas two weeks ago. Page Six reports the actor and the hotel magnate got into a tiff over politics, specifically, President Obama. Clooney said, in an interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal afterward: “He called the president an a–hole … that is a fact … I said the President was my longtime friend and then he said ‘your friend is an a–hole.’ … At that point I told Steve that HE was an a–hole and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass.” Clooney went on to say it wasn’t Wynn’s political beliefs that disgusted him so. He said: “It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character.” Wynn’s account of the incident, which happened at a dinner at Botero restaurant in Wynn’s Encore hotel, was different from Clooney’s. Wynn said: “Clooney’s fun to be with when he’s sober. If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don’t stay late.” Hey Wynn, you invited him…what’s up with provoking your guest? Anyway, Wynn, a noted Obama critic, also called into question just how close the actor and President really are. Wynn said: “When he’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president.” When all of this happened, George and his friend Rande Gerber walked out, but not before three big goon bodyguards of Wynn’s stood by ready to pounce on Clooney.
