An antique Porsche 928 once owned by late Beatle George Harrison is heading to auction.
The car is currently owned by Raj Sedha, who bought the vehicle to use for spare parts, totally unaware of its history.
Sedha was ready dismantle the car, but his wife checked the discovered that Harrison was its former owner.
Speaking with the BBC, Sedha said, “Once I got it on the drive [in 2003], I began to figure which parts I wanted to take off.
“My partner ran out with the book and said, ‘stop dismantling it, it belongs to George Harrison’. I said, ‘who’s George Harrison?'”
For eight years, Raj kept the car in his garage before deciding to restore and sell it.
“We want it to go to someone who’s going to appreciate it,” Sedha says.
The car was owned for three years by Harrison while he lived in Henley-on-Thames, prior to his death in 2001.
The car is expected to bring about $25,000 when it goes under the hammer on March 17th in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
