80’s TV Top Cop To Perform With Brother In New Stage Production

By: Renee Grant

It’s been 36 years since we fell in love with Tyne Daly as the tough-talking Detective Lacey, and fans are still captivated by her character, both on and off the screen. These days, new fans can find Daly on the stage more so than the screen, but she’s just as captivating as ever.

Playbill reports that Daly will star with her younger brother, actor Tim Daly, in a new production. The duo will headline in the play Downstairs at the Dorset Theatre Festival in Vermont this summer. The story follows “the story of Eileen (Tyne Daly), whose brother Teddy (Tim Daly) has decided to move home and live in her basement. Eileen’s husband is less than thrilled about this. And Teddy is more than a little off his game. As the brother and sister struggle to understand their present and their past, questions of betrayal, disappointment, and madness rise and fall. Who is saving whom?”

Tyne has been seen in plenty of iconic Broadway shows throughout the years, including Mothers and Sons, Gypsy, Master Class and many others.

It will be interesting to see the siblings take to the stage together. If you’re looking for more information, click here.
