The much-anticipated Michael Jackson TV biopic Searching For Neverland, which stars famed impersonator Navi, has been in production since January. Now, photos from the set have surfaced.
Later this year, the film will air on Lifetime, which has been noted for its biopics lately, including the stories of 90’s pop stars TLC, Aaliyah and Toni Braxton.
Searching For Neverland will chronicle Michael’s life through stories from his bodyguards in a script adapted from the book Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days.
Some photos of Navi on set as Jackson have appeared via TMZ, as well as Twitter. Have a look below.
The new biopic comes on the heels of a film that was scrapped in January which featured Joseph Fiennes playing the role of Jackson. Due to backlash from Michael’s family and fans, the movie was pulled from television, with his daughter Paris Jackson saying Fiennes portrayal of her father “honestly made me want to vomit”.
Will you be watching the upcoming movie? Do you think Navi will nail the role? See footage of Navi’s impersonation below and let us know!
