The 4th annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure show will feature some amazing acts raising funds and awareness for a great cause. The announced lineup features Dave Grohl, Bob Weir, Mick Fleetwood and Sammy Hagar and many more. The benefit concert is held by Hagar and Metallica’s James Hetfield to raise money for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Grohl stands in for Hetfield this year while Metallica is on their current WorldWired Tour. The show sees artists rely on mostly acoustic instruments, giving an intimate and ethereal feel to the performances. Hetfield covered the Beatles‘ In My Life on acoustic guitar in 2014, and joined Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong for Bob Seger‘s Turn the Page. In 2015, surprise guest Adam Sandler played Led Zeppelin‘s Ramble On.
Sarah McLachlan, Steve Vai, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder and Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo will also take the stage for the show which will be held at San Francisco’s Fillmore on May 15th.
Tickets for the concert go on sale March 31st at 10AM Pacific time via LiveNation.
