Amid Eric Clapton recently rescheduling two concerts due to “severe bronchitis,” he’s been spotted at LAX looking a bit frail and being pushed in a wheelchair.
The Sun is reporting that Clapton was seen being escorted through the airport by his daughters Julia Rose, 16, Ella May, 14, and Sophie Belle, 12. The rocker wore a baseball cap, gray hoodie and track pants on his way through the airport.
Although his health may be in question, Clapton did stop to shake hands with staff and to smile with his fans.
While he was “very sorry” to reschedule the LA concerts, he did so under doctor’s orders. In a statement, Clapton said: “Due to severe bronchitis and under doctor’s advisement, Eric Clapton is rescheduling this weekend’s two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles.
“The Saturday March 25 show will now be held Wednesday, September 13. The Sunday March 26 show will now be held Monday September 18.
“He is very sorry to disappoint his fans but looks forward to these shows.”
Last November, Clapton revealed that he had planned to retire from performing for good after the LA shows, but now that retirement will wait a bit longer. He also previously revealed that he suffers from peripheral neuropathy, making it difficult to play guitar through the numbness or sharp pain.
Clapton is also set to perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall in May.
