Did Prince’s Estate Crush New Album To Use Songs In New Reality Show?

By: Renee Grant

Weeks after Prince‘s estate nixed a new album of previously unreleased music by the star, it is being reported that the estate wants to use that music for a new reality show.

The EP, titled Deliverance, was in the process of being released by Prince’s mixing and recording engineer George Ian Boxill to mark the one-year anniversary of his passing on April 21st. Prince’s estate sued Boxill to prevent the release of that album. Boxill is still fighting in court to retain the music he made with Prince.

Reportedly, the estate plans to debut the music in the show, and that was the reason they chose to fight Boxill on his release, so the good news for fans is that music may still be heard, we just don’t know when.

The show is reportedly still in early development and would center on the life of those closest to Prince and how their lives have changed since his death. A production company is attached to the project, but no deals have been made for an air date.
