Keith Richards Auctioning Personal Antiques For Charity

By: Renee Grant

You may be able to get some satisfaction while you raise money for a good cause this June. Keith Richards and his wife Patti Hansen are holding an auction to raise money for autism charities SPHERE and Prospector Theater.

Hansen’s 24-year-old nephew has autism, and helping the charities is a labor of love for the couple.

Included in the auction will be an extensive collection of antiques from Richards’ Manhattan apartment. Stair Galleries in New York will be the site of the auction, hosted by Hansen herself. Among the items for sale are an English tufted leather Chesterfield sofa, said to be Richards’ favorite piece, a Persian Tabriz carpet, an Edwardian satinwood four-poster bed, an elegant set of china, and more.

Hansen and Richards will donate 100% of the proceeds from the auction, which will be held on June 24th.

A gallery exhibition of the catalog will open ten days prior to the auction, which is when the online brochure will be posted as well.
