Phil Collins Returns To The Stage After Hotel Room Fall

By: Renee Grant

Four days after taking a nasty fall in his hotel room and suffering a gash on his forehead, Phil Collins has returned to the stage. The 66-year-old resumed his Not Dead Yet tour in Cologne, Germany on Sunday night, June 11th.

With a bandage just above his left eye, Collins took to the stage at Lanxess Arena and seemed to be feeling much better. See him performing at the show below.

The fall happened as Collins was going to the bathroom in his hotel room in the middle of the night. The former Genesis frontman hit his head on a chair. Collins suffers from a condition called ‘drop foot’ which makes it difficult for him to walk.

Collins returned to performing this year after a long hiatus. The legendary musician has battled back after a 2015 back surgery, nerve damage, and multiple foot fractures.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be fit enough to play the drums again on tour,” Collins told People last year. “My left arm has changed – it’s a neural thing. The back surgery I had was great – I mean, how good can surgery be? But it was problem-free. But then when I was recovering on crutches, I fell and fractured my foot. When I recovered from foot surgery, I fell again and fractured another part of the same foot. My right foot now is completely numb.”
