The much-anticipated documentary detailing the incredible life and death of legendary diva Whitney Houston will debut in theaters in the UK beginning tomorrow (June 16), and the trailer gives us in the US our first glimpse of the compelling film.
In addition to what we already know about the beloved pop star, the doc also explores a long-rumored romantic relationship between Houston and her former assistant and close friend Robyn Crawford. It has been said that the breakdown of that relationship is what lead to Houston’s final spiral out of control, this documentary is meant to shed some light on that theory, as well as show us the many sides of the troubled chanteuse.
The film makes the rounds to a few film festivals in the US this month at the AFI Docs Festival on June 17th, the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 20th, and the Nantucket Film Festival on June 24th before Showtime airs the film beginning on August 26th.
Take a look at the trailer below and mark your calendars for the US debut.
