Scranton’s Peach Music Festival To Honor Gregg Allman

By: Renee Grant

The Peach Music Festival was founded by the Allman Brothers Band in 2012, and this year the festival honors two of its founding members, Gregg Allman and Butch Trucks. Both band members died this year.

The festival is set to run from August 10th through August 13th at Montage Mountain & Water Park in Scranton, PA.

The performance is being billed as an all-star tribute, although the lineup is still being finalized. It is assumed remaining Allman Brothers Band members Warren Haynes, Les BrersMarc Quiñones, Jaimoe, and Oteil Burbridge will play the show. The tribute will be a part of the Saturday night portion of the festival.

Currently confirmed to play the festival is My Morning Jacket, Widespread Panic, Lettuce Ft. Chaka Khan, The Werks, Gov’t Mule, and more.

A cool throwback to the 80’s ‘Freedom Rock’ commercials promotes the upcoming concert, which you can watch below.
