This September, West Philly will host one of the coolest concerts around when Morris Day and The Time and Sheila E. perform a Prince tribute show!
The Prince protegés will headline a free concert as part of the Neighborhood to Neighborhood (N2N) Festival at 50th Street and Baltimore Avenue on September 16th.
Morris Day and the Time and Sheila E. will perform a mix of Prince covers and original songs.
The show will also feature performances by Philly’s own Questlove, Philly rap artist PnB Rock, and Philly comedian Skeet. Patty Jackson, longtime Philly radio personality, and beloved Philadelphia comedian TuRae will co-host the concert.
The festival begins at noon, with Sheila E. performing at 2PM. Morris Day and The Time will hit the stage at 7PM, with the festival concluding at 8PM.
The festival is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP online and to bring chairs, as the crowd is expected to be a big one. Attendees are also able to enter a raffle for meet-and-greets and VIP access, and early birds will have a chance to receive free commemorative Prince t-shirts.
The festival, which features food and craft vendors, kid’s activities, and more, returned last year (2016) after a six-year hiatus. Last year’s headliner was Chicago rap artist Common.
