While onlookers and art bloggers initially assumed Dylan was basing his work off the live models in front of him, it has been revealed that the inspiration behind his painting is actually a photo of Italian actress Sonia Aquino by fashion photographer Bruno Bisang. This comes over a year in the wake of his 2011 painting scandal, in which Dylan was confronted with the very same issue of basing his work off of existing photographs. Some even speculate as to whether Dylan even painted the latest work himself at all, or if Richard Prince might have lent an artistic hand. Critics of Dylan’s past shows addressed the probability of his work acting as social commentary rather than art, making the integrity of its originality irrelevant.a

How is this even a thing, you ask? Well, it turns out that the Rolling Stones singer left a few silky strands behind at one of his lady friends parents’ house back in the ’60s. Obviously impressed with their daughter’s choice in rock stars to bring home, her family saved the hair, and it’s now being auctioned off to the highest bidder — that could be you! If you have anywhere between $2000 and $3000 to fork over.

Guitarist Ron Wood — still the “new guy” in the band, though he joined in 1975 — recently called Boston classic rock station WZLX (a Radio.com station) to chat with DJ Chuck Nowlin a bit about his love of the city, recalling visiting Boston on tour when he was the bass player in the Jeff Beck Group, and chatting with WZLX DJ Peter Wolf (of the J. Geils Band).

As for the present, Wood says that the band has been in great shape on this tour.

“We’re playing better than ever,” he said. “The shows are the best we’ve ever done.”

On Tuesday morning The Breakfast Club spoke with Donald Nally, conductor of Philadelphia choral group The Crossing, who will be performing with the Rolling Stones in Philadelphia.

The 24 member chorus whose ages, like most Stones fans, range from 25-55 years are excited and honored to sing the backing vocals, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” with one of the greatest rock bands in the world, not once, but twice.

But how did they get the gig?

“I have a friend in New York who sang with them there,” Nally said. “When they asked who they should come to in Philadelphia, he said we’re the guys.”

The Crossing performs regularly in and around Philadelphia, and have happily rerouted their June calendar for a once in a lifetime chance to be on stage with Mick and Keith.

“When the singers started to sing it you could just see these huge smiles coming across their faces, because they all know it, but they probably never actually sang that part. And you see it on their faces immediately, that they’re just having a great time.”

There must be perks to a gig of this caliber.

“Somewhere along the line we’re going to interact with the band, but I don’t know exactly when,” Nally said.

The Queen Bey….that’s Beyonce… has officially welcomed Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter to the world.  In a post on her website titled, “Congrats to Kim & Kanye,” the pop star offered up a message to the new parents, who welcomed their first child together on Saturday.  ”Enjoy this beautiful moment together,” wrote Beyonce, who is mom to toddler Blue Ivy.  Usatoday.com reports that the singer’s husband Jay-Z is good friends and business partners with West, with the two collaborating on an album and tour together — Watch the Throne — in 2011.  Many thought that Beyonce did not like Kim K when Kanye starting bringing her around the “in” crowd, but she sent her well wishes.

On Wednesday, June 19th, various restaurants across the country will participate in National Dine Out Day to benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

With New Jersey’s First Lady Mary Pat Christie leading the effort, patrons can aid in relief and recovery by simply going out to eat. Participating restaurants will have the option of donating from 15 to 50% of sales from June 19th to rebuilding the families, small businesses, and communities affected by the hurricane.

There is still work to be done, so take your spouse, friends or family out for a bite to eat this Wednesday and help New Jersey get back on its feet.

After abruptly walking away from “Chappelle’s Show,” his popular Comedy Central sketch show, in 2005, Chappelle has remained elusive. He occasionally performed comedy around the country, but a string of impromptu shows in February where he performed with Chris Rock, Kevin Hart and others at The Comedy Cellar in New York sparked rumors that he would go on tour. The ‘Oddball’ tour will play 13 dates this fall, and Chappelle is slated to co-headline the tour with comedy/musical act Flight of the Conchords.  The festival will feature two stages, street performers, vendors, psychics, freaks, tasty treats and more.  The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Tour is the first time Funny or Die has launched such a large-scale tour. In recent years, stand-up comedy acts have become increasingly popular acts at large music festivals, like South By Southwest and Bonnaroo.  Live Nation says that this is the largest comedy festival ever promoted by their company. Tickets go on sale this Friday June 21st.
